Letter and narrative, [1856?], 1859.

An 1859 letter to Col. M. T. Simmons (WA MSS 223) reports the arrest of Kitsap, the escape of Nelson, and the attitude of the Indians on the Reserve toward the arrest. "Account of the capture and killing of Qui-e-muth," (WA MSS 224) probably a copy dated Nov. 18, 1856, describes the voluntary surrender of Quiemuth to Gov. Stevens and his death while waiting in his home in Olympia to be taken to Fort Steilacoom.

Michael T. Simmons emigrated to Oregon in 1844 and settled on Puget Sound in 1845.
